Lango Foothills
Lango specializes in providing engaging Spanish, French, Italian and Mandarin classes for children ages 5 - 10. The native-speaking instructors teach at different afterschool programs as well as in Saturday classes. Lango also offers language camps in the summer and winter where kids go on imaginary trips around the world, savoring each location's culture and language. The class sizes are small to make sure each child has a chance to shine.
At Lango, you can expect your child to grow developmentally and cognitively, including improved problem-solving and critical thinking skills and enhanced creativity. Studying a foreign language over an extended period has been shown to accelerate cognitive development, resulting in higher grades in math and English, and even higher SAT scores.
Teachers bring their passion for other lands and peoples to their classes. Lango's students learn about the richness of other cultures, typically increasing their interest in speaking their new language. Students can learn about folk music from Argentina, Spanish games, food from France, or Chinese dance depending on which language they take.

I've been sending my son to Lango for Spanish since he was almost 2 years old. As he's developed, there has always been a play based class at his level. He has also made some long time friends that have been in the program as long. Not only has it enriched his language skills, but also his understanding of the diversity of people and the cultures they come from. At the classes, in addition to Spanish, he learns art, history, geography and it is a great "soft" preparation for preschool/elementary, as well as orienting your child to curriculum that is likely to come in these more formal classroom settings. It's a great program, I'd recommend it to anyone!

My daughter has been taking Mandarin after school enrichment classes at Clairbourn School for a few years now. The program is run by Lango Foothills and is fantastic. My daughter enjoys learning to speak and write / read Chinese. Maria is great with the kids. She is very attentive and it's important to her that the kids learn and have a good experience. The classes are small - usually around 6 kids, although sometimes there will be as many as 8. We have been attending for several years now on Saturday mornings and the 3-week summer camp. My 6 year old does well there. (She's pretty shy, so it's a big deal that she likes to go.) My 3 year old attends the Saturday morning toddler class and she is also learning a lot. They teach the kids through song and small-group activities, so it's very interactive as well as effective.
