This year, members of the chimpanzee care and conservation communities from around the globe are celebrating the first ever World Chimpanzee Day on July 14. Activities include Chimp Chats, Enrichment Demo, Chimpanzee Observation Station, and more. (Free with Admission)

Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival

The Independent Shakespeare Company presents free Shakespeare performances for free: A Midsummer Night's Dream. The performance site is at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. Ample free parking is available. Look for the hot pink signs directing you to the parking lots near the Merry-Go-Round. Parking lot 2 is the closest to the performance site, but be prepared for a bit of a walk up a hill. (Free)
